OFFICIAL EDUCOR RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS PANDEMIC
UPDATE: IMPACT OF COVID-19 VIRUS ON THE HIGHER EDUCATION SECTOR
For over 50 days we have been living in a time of national lockdown. These are extraordinary times as all South Africans, and other nations, confront the threat of the Covid-19 virus. The lockdown was extended to 30 April 2020 on Level 5. On 1 May 2020 we moved to lockdown Level 4. There are signals from government that we may soon be easing the lockdown further, but this is not certain.
We are launching Virtual Classes for Part-time students! We are excited to announce that we will be hosting LIVE sessions from Tuesday, 19 May 2020 for part-time students.
As an online student right now, you are responsible for contributing to the online learning space in a positive and friendly manner.
You need to know when you will have virtual classes and when you need to be engaging in self directed study. Access your virtual classes using the steps previously provided to you in the student communications! You need to know when you will have virtual classes and when you need to be engaging in self directed study. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the national lockdown has disrupted the start of the 2020 academic year and the continuation of the academic programme. We trust that you have been keeping up to date with your studies at home and have joined the thousands of other students who are learning online with our support! Further details of how to get online with our continued support is outlined in this communication for you.
The Student Portal is the place to receive all communication and notifications which are sent to students via their institutional email. Where we have identified students who have not yet logged in or who require additional support to their queries, we have tried to call via their mobile number or contact them via their email address. Students are reminded to ensure that we have their latest contact details. We are also keen to get their feedback on online learning resources provided and ask that they complete this information survey by 15 May 2020.
We hope you are staying healthy in these unprecedented times. As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has altered our but like all past crises we are confident that in working together, we will overcome and prevail.
We hope that you are staying safe during the national lockdown. We thank you for your continued support and understanding as we all work together to beat Covid-19 and to successfully complete our 2020 academic programme.
